Assets & QR Labels
FlowPSA keeps the commercial record of hardware. Live facts about a managed endpoint stay in FlowRMM; the asset points at it.
What an asset records
| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| Asset tag | AST0000001 |
| Serial number | Manufacturer serial |
| Company | Acme Corp |
| Category | workstation, laptop, server, network, mobile, peripheral |
| Status | deployed, in stock, maintenance, reclaimed, disposed |
| Assigned user | The person using it |
| Warranty | Expiry date |
| FlowRMM device | For example acme-wks-01, when the asset is managed |
QR labels
Print a label for any asset. It carries a QR code linking to the asset, plus the tag, company, category, and serial number, sized for common thermal label printers.
Scanning
Open Assets and choose scan to use a laptop webcam or phone camera. Scanning a label opens that asset. Audit a rack or a shelf by scanning each device to confirm location and status.
Reclaiming hardware
When someone leaves Acme Corp, flag their equipment for reclamation on the offboarding work order. Scan it when it arrives back at the office. FlowPSA records the scan, unassigns the user, sets the status to reclaimed or in stock, and writes an audit record.
